Day 1: Who you gonna call?
Today is the first day of our 40 days. It’s a good day to ask yourself, “Who or what do I put my trust in?” Throughout this week we are going to discover that how you answer that question is important! Consider this verse:
I Kings 18:24 – “Then you call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of the Lord. The god who answers by fire—he is God.”
Elijah challenged the people to see whether or not God could be trusted. He knew that Baal never loved them the way the LORD did, but the people had forgotten.
PRAY: Sit quietly for a moment. Ask God to let you see what He sees when He looks in your heart. Ask Him who (or what) you’ve been calling on for help. Is it Him? Or you…or your money…or your spouse, friends, children, people in authority over you…or…confess whatever He reveals to you. And then, renew your commitment to put your trust in Him.
