Frequently Asked Questions

  • New Here?

😄We’re so excited to welcome you and your child to TSC! We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before the service starts so you have plenty of time to check in and get settled. When you enter the parking lot, please turn on your hazard lights—this alerts our team to direct you to the designated guest parking area in front of Building B.

Once you arrive, head to the First Time Guest Tent outside or to the Welcome Desk located in the foyer of the C Building. A team member will guide you through a brief registration form and then personally escort you and your child to their appropriate classroom. Please be sure to label all of your child's belongings before arriving. Also, don’t forget to inform our Welcome Team of any allergies or health concerns your child may have so we can take proper care.

We use a secure sticker system for child safety. You’ll place the sticker with your child’s name and info on their back, while you hold on to the matching numbered sticker. This number is required to pick your child up after class. If there’s ever a need to contact you during the service, you’ll be notified and asked to report immediately to the C Building.

  • Well Child Policy

At TSC, we love and care deeply for your child. In the interest of keeping all children safe and healthy, we ask that any child showing signs of illness stay home. Children should not attend if they have had a fever over 99.7°F, vomiting, or diarrhea within the last 24 hours. Similarly, a runny nose with yellow or green drainage, unless cleared by a doctor, is a reason to stay home.

Children with skin rashes or conditions such as impetigo, chicken pox, hand-foot-mouth disease, or other contagious issues must remain at home, and we ask that you notify our church office if your child is diagnosed. Any rashes of unknown origin will require medical clearance before returning. If your child has strep throat, they need to have been on antibiotics for at least 24 hours before returning to class. Persistent coughs, sore throats, or signs of respiratory infections may also require a doctor's note.

We also cannot accept children with conjunctivitis (pink eye), lice, ringworm, or other parasites until they’ve been properly treated. Our kids ministry staff has the final say when it comes to determining whether a child is well enough to stay.

  • What Should We Bring For Our Pre-School Aged Child?

When packing for your little one, please include two or three disposable diapers, a complete change of clothes, a bottle or pacifier if needed, and a cup of water or juice. All personal items, including pacifiers and sippy cups, should be labeled with your child’s first and last name before arriving. If you forget, we have permanent markers and diaper bag tags available at the preschool welcome desk. If something is not labeled, your child’s teacher may go ahead and label it for you.

When you arrive at the classroom, a teacher will greet you at the door to receive your child, their bag, and any important care items. You’ll have an opportunity to note any specific feeding times, nap schedules, allergies, or special needs on the classroom sign-in sheet. Please note that children must be three years old and fully potty trained by August 15, 2025, to attend a three-year-old class.

  • Will My Child Get A Snack?

For infants and toddlers under age two, we ask that you feed your child breakfast at home before attending. Bottles of juice or formula that you provide will be given to your baby during class, but due to allergy concerns, outside food is not allowed. The only snack we serve in this age group is Cheerios. If your child has a food allergy, we ask that you place a yellow “allergy alert” sticker on the front of their shirt.

For children ages three through pre-K, we often serve snacks like Cheerios, Fruit Loops, or Goldfish. Occasionally, your child may prepare a special snack during class that ties into the day’s Bible lesson. A snack board will be posted at the classroom door each week with a list of what is being served. If your child has food allergies, please ensure they wear a yellow allergy alert sticker.

For children Kindergarten - 5th grade, we will serve individual packed snacks such as fruit snacks, cookies, cheez its, animal crackers, or granola bars. Gluten free options are available.

  • What If My Child Has An Allergy?

We do our best to keep our environments allergy-friendly. If your child has any allergies, we ask that you fill out an allergy information form and bring it to the Welcome Desk on Sunday. This helps us update our records and prepare in the event of a medical emergency.

  • How Do I Pick Up My Child?

    Pre-School (Birth - PreK)

At pickup, please wait at the door for a teacher to bring your child to you. We ask that parents and siblings do not enter the classroom. You’ll need to show the smaller portion of your child’s security tag to the teacher. Before leaving the church, please double-check that you’ve collected all of your child’s belongings. Note that siblings under age 16 are not permitted to pick up younger siblings from class.

    Kindergarten - 5th Graders

You must have the matching number that appears on their name tag—either the physical sticker or sent to you via text or photo from the person who checked your child in. Your child will be in their drop off room. For 1st-5th grade, present your security sticker to the staff or director at the door after you have picked your child up from their small group. For Kindergarten in C105/C107, the small group leader will bring your child to the door to meet you and check your security tag.

  • What If My Child Has Questions About Baptism or a Spiritual Decision?

We love to talk with your child about Jesus and to help you in those conversations. One of those ways to start the coversation is with our Faith101 Class. Faith 101 meets in the C building upstairs at 11:30am. This class is for kids to learn more about their relationship with Christ in preparation for being baptized. At least one parent must attend with the child.

Our staff is also available to talk with your child on Sunday and Wednesday or if you would like to make an appointment, please email Terri at tstahly@tsclife.org and we can get something on the calendar.

  • Faith 101

This class is designed for kids after they accept Jesus Christ as their Savior, and before they get baptized. We help kids understand the decision they have made and what it means to live a Christian life. Parents are encouraged to attend with their child. We meet in the Multi Purpose Room in the C Building on Sunday morning once a month at 11:15am.

  • Child Dedication

Child Dedication at TSC occurs twice a year. Please fill out this form if you are interested in being notified of our upcoming dedication dates.

Dedication is a covenant between the parents and God to raise the child in a Christian home and teach the Bible. The church is to be a mentor to the parents. The child is a gift that God has placed in our lives and the parents’ role is to teach, pray and nurture a child, so he or she will develop a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Children are a gift from God. As believers, we should recognize that children belong first and foremost to God.

Psalm 127:3 Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him.
