what we believe

Our Mission

At Thompson Station Church, our mission is to connect people with Jesus to experience His greater life.

Our Vision

Our vision through 2027 is to develop people to begin 7 new relationships to impact 70 neighborhoods, 7 cities, and 7 countries.

We are calling everyone to live life on mission.  By intentional, persistent pursuit of God’s presence through prayer and His word, His Spirit will empower and enable us. We will see each relationship with anyone as an opportunity for connecting people to Jesus, so they experience His greater life.

Our Values

Values are not what we do but they characterize everything we do. Our values create filters for decisions, spring boards for action.
  1. Jesus Changes Everything - We live for authentic transformation.  2 Peter. 1:4
  2. Spirit-led - We invite His presence and power in our midst. Romans 8:14
  3. Prayer Powered - We listen when God speaks. 1 John 5:14-15
  4. Community Builders - We join our neighbors to make an eternal difference. Genesis 48:4
  5. Family Focused - We partner to grow spiritually healthy people. Deuteronomy 6:5-9
  6. Devoted Servants - We are generous with our time, talents, and treasures. 2 Corinthians 9:11
  7. Embrace Opportunity - We welcome every challenge with courage.  Joshua 1:9, Luke 6:38

Faith Basics

These are the highlights of our profession of Faith in Jesus:
  • God is the Holy Trinity: Father,  Son and Holy Spirit; One in Essence and Three in Persons. We recognize and worship Him as one God.
  • Jesus Christ is God in the flesh. He died, arose after three days in the tomb, and now sits at the right hand of the Father, interceding on our behalf.
  • The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Godhead who teaches and comforts the believer. We believe in His work, power, fruit, and gifts. It’s the power of God’s Holy Spirit that helps us do the right things. We are not strong enough to live the Christian life on our own.
  • The Bible is the perfect and divinely inspired Word of God. The sixty-six canonical books of the Bible, as originally written, provide the only foundation of Christian faith and practice, government, and discipline.
  • We are saved by grace, through faith in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who forever paid the price for our sin. That faith is evident in our lives through right thinking and actions.
  • Christian baptism is immersion of the believer in water. It's an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in the Savior's death, burial, and resurrection. It represents the believer's death to sin, burial of his or her own life, and the resurrection to walk in the newness of life in Christ. 1 Peter 3:21
  • The Church is the Body of Christ and uniquely exists to extend the love of God to the world around us, through both our words and our work, and to lead believers toward spiritual maturity as followers of Christ.
  • The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ is coming back visibly to the earth, to judge the living and the dead. The wicked will receive eternal punishment, as the reward of their evil deeds. Christ will reward those who trust and serve Him, and we will rule and reign with Him for eternity.
  • Generosity is an evidence of our gratitude and obedience to God's plan for our lives. We are all called to be faithful in biblical generosity and tithing. God really wants our hearts, and Jesus taught that our hearts are always where our treasure is. (Matthew 6:21) Tithing (10%) is a biblical principal for generosity. It is a great place to begin to trust God for His provision. (Matthew 23:23) We want to encourage you to start where you are and grow into a life of generosity as the Lord provides. Giving goes beyond the tithe to sharing from the blessing God has given me, through missions or special projects to help support the work of Thompson Station Church.
