DAY 15: The Promising God
READ IT
2 Corinthians 1:20
For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.
TAKE IT TO HEART
I found a great little book titled The Promising God by Richard Bucher and in it, he says this about our Promising God:
“All of God’s promises involve divine intervention of some kind. In every case, God promises to do something for you. Rescue you. Provide for you. Give to you. Direct you. Strengthen you. Grow you. Show you. Heal you. Restore you. Empower you. Use you. Calm you. Carry you. Be with you. Every promise God makes results in his intervening in your situation or circumstances. Showing his loving presence and power. Revealing himself in your life. Encountering you.
So God’s promises do far more than just bring results. They bring God. They bring God himself into your life. They bring his powerful intervention.”
There is a verse in the Psalms that is a game changer for those who take it to heart. It is Psalm 37:23,
The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.
If God delights in the details of our lives, then His promises are made for us to take hold of. And when God makes good on His promises, you can be certain that He has shown up on the platform of your life to reveal His glory through you to the world around you.
That was a long sentence. Go read it again.
PRAY FOR THESE THINGS TODAY:
Let’s ask God to have His way in these situations today:
