Day 17: God Keeps his promises
READ IT
Matthew 7:7-11
“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. “You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him."
TAKE IT TO HEART
These verses remind us that prayer is not an activity in futility. It’s not merely a way to exercise your spiritual muscles and flex your willingness to endure God’s silence. These verses tell us that when we keep asking, we will receive. When we keep seeking we will find and when we keep knocking the door will open. There are answers on the other side of praying.
In the Prayer Clinic we pledge ourselves to pray and stay with anyone who comes to us. Why? Because we believe that God answers our prayers. We also believe that God does a whole lot of other things along the way and we want to walk with you while you are taking that journey.
So, consider this. God can do whatever He wants to do because He’s God. But, God puts restraints on Himself by giving us promises in His Word. And with every promise, God is determined to do what He has promised to do (not anything else), because He’s given us His Word and He’s pledged to keep it. And God does not lie or ever break a promise.
So, my friend, don’t ever stop praying!

PRAY FOR THESE THINGS TODAY
- Is there something you’ve stopped praying for because it hasn’t happened yet? Can you find a promise in the Bible that relates to that? Take hold of that promise and ask, seek, and knock (and don’t stop til God answers).
- The 3 greatest needs in Montana are strong and healthy churches that are reaching their communities for Christ, the planting of new churches, and reaching the next generation of ministry leaders. This summer we are taking families to Montana to work with former TSC members, Justin and Miranda Robinson (and their 3 sons) in Libby, MT. Click here to learn more and ask God how He wants you to support the church in Montana.
- Pray to see the people running for public office through the eyes of Jesus. See who is on the ballot here.
