Day 21: god always keeps his promises but not always the way you think he would

READ IT
Isaiah 55:8-9
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

TAKE IT TO HEART
I want to quote Richard Bucher from The Promising God one more time as we bring our 21 days to a close today.

“God always keeps His promises. God always does what He says He will do. In this He is perfectly predictable. That is why we can trust Him completely. God always is and will be who He has revealed Himself to be in the Scriptures: loving, forgiving, faithful, truthful, merciful, powerful, just, wise, good, and gracious. In these things God will always be completely predictable. We can be sure of it.

But the way He chooses to work in our lives is not perfectly predictable.

How and when He goes about His work–which includes the way He fulfills His promises and answers our prayers–can’t be predicted with precision. Simply because He is God.

Remember that when God decides how to work in our lives, he takes it all in. Unlike us, He sees all ends, all outcomes and all possibilities. He sees all reactions to all actions. He is the God who has counted every conceivable variable and knows them all by name. The God who at once sees how everything affects everything else according to every possible combination.

He is the God who–as He is working in our one life–is simultaneously working in all lives. The God who will always be faithful to His promises, but who also has his own divine agenda. The God who–and the only one who–has impeccable timing. The only one who knows when you and everything else is ready.”

PRAY FOR THESE THINGS TODAY:
  • Consider your most desperate need and how eager you are for God to do something. Now, tell God you trust Him, you know He is working, and you will trust Him until He either lets you see what He’s up to, or He completes His work.
  • Today is the day for our ATM event! Ask God to work through this fun outreach event to draw people to Himself.
  • We’ve highlighted our mission trip opportunities for 2025 and prayed over several of them. Don’t stop praying! Continue asking God which trip you will join either by praying, giving or going!! www.tsclife.org/missions
