DAY 35: THAT HE UNDERSTANDS AND KNOWS ME
One of the worst things that happens in a failing marriage is that spouses no longer understand or know each other. Somewhere along the way they misjudge each other harshly. Their unresolved hurt ferments into bitterness until they lose touch all together. God longs for us to allow Him to renew our passion for Him so that we can understand and know Him.
Jeremiah 9:23-24–Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the Lord.”
PRAY: Is there any unresolved hurt that is fermenting in your relationship with God? Ask Him to reveal it to you. Confess it and invite Him to take it away. Acknowledge that you might be missing something about His true character and invite Him to remind you that He is a God of love, justice, and righteousness on earth. Praise Him for being Who He says He is.
